DON BURT
11th President
1992 - 1993
I served as president of the Gwinnett County Retired Teachers Association for the term 1992 - 1993. This was the
first year of the change in the bylaws allowing the president to serve only one term compared to two year teams. This change
was made in order that one individual would not be obligated to six years of service, two as vice-president, two as president
and two as past president.
The membership this year remained fairly stable with only a slight increase. Much of the year was devoted to assisting
Reid Mullins, past president, to run for state office as president of the state association, where he was successful.
The most significant thing of the year was the auction in the fall. At this auction for a student scholarship,
more money was raised than during any previous auction.
